Despite the days of the speakeasies of the the 1920’s being long gone, Nineteen Twenty Five, a bar, restaurant and self proclaimed speakeasy located in the Fairmont Nile City has risen to the occasion to bring to Cairo the old Gatsby-esque days of the the jazzin’ twenties with a modern twist.
The mellow lighting and cool smooth jazz playing on a loop in this place is sure to take you back to those swinging old days. What is also interesting about Nineteen Twenty Five’s atmosphere is the gold accents and geometric brass lighting that bring a modern flair to the whole interior while also giving us a feel of glamour and glitz. 
The food itself is everything that we hoped for and more! Their menu is interesting not only because of the variety but also because of the fact that they offer an à la carte menu that allows you to order a set choice of select signature dishes from appetizers all the way to desserts! What we couldn’t get enough of was their food presentation. As you know, you eat with your eyes first! The colors and artfulness of plating is definitely something Nineteen Twenty Five excels at.
But what we absolutely fell in love with was their starter of Pan-seared Tuna perfectly marinated in miso and orange spices. It was a pleasant surprise that it was not only coupled with avocado which added a delightful texture to the dish but also green apples and lemon grass which emphasized the acidic taste and the citrusy notes of the orange spices. Nineteen Twenty Five is sure to give your palate a run for its money.
