Egyptian jewellery designer Riham Zaghloul featured five of her latest collections at New York Fashion Week AW’17 (NYFW). The ZAGH pieces turned heads at the highly competitive international event, drawing attention to their unconventionally modern reconstruction of Egyptian themes, and flawless production quality. This year’s ZAGH collections continue to defy stereotypes of what constitutes Egyptian art, setting a trend in the pursuit of excellence in fine jewellery design and manufacturing originating from the Middle East.
“Showcasing in New York Fashion Week this fall/winter was part of ZAGH’s plan to enter the US market,” said Riham Zaghloul, Managing Partner & Lead Designer, ZAGH. “Expanding our global presence through the big fashion shows continues to be a priority for ZAGH as we carefully explore further participations in other major fashion shows around the world.”
New York Fashion Week audiences and media experienced ZAGH’s collaboration alongside Egyptian fashion designer Farida Temraza, who presented the jewellery brand’scollection as it exudes confidence and celebrates the success and independence of women worldwide. The pieces, very much like their wearers are delicate yet resilient, unpredictable yet grounded, expose vulnerability yet fearless. Zaghloul uses moods as inspiration for her collections and the attention to detail was noticed by all in attendance. Precious metals are boldly mixed with wood and jet stone, challenging traditional choices of material.
