Life is full of challenges and hardships, some easier to navigate than others, and there’s no fixed way to deal with them. When Donia Samir Ghanem appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the ‘Big Time’ podcast with Amr Adeeb, she was asked about how she and her sister, Amy, coped with the loss of their parents, the late actors Samir Ghanem and Dalal Abdelaziz.

Donia spontaneously responded that they hadn’t fully overcome their parents’ departure and that they were still navigating their way through the grief, highlighting that everyone deals with such challenges differently.

Many assume that life experiences are shared and that all people go through them in identical stages. However, there are always individual differences between one person and another, something that should never be open to questioning or judgment.

Your story doesn’t have to be the same as mine, and we don’t all have to overcome sadness the same way. Each person must take the time they need to deal with hard times; this may take months or years and sometimes even linger forever. What’s really important is to have a reliable support system to lean on, family or friends, who are willing to invest time and effort to try and ease any challenges.
