I felt the need to speak up on behalf of all our generation. Our parents and grandparents are adorable and we love them and love the fact that they ‘re mastering the social media and keeping up with the new technology. However, someone needs to spit it out loud: “Social media isn’t that big of a deal” !!
1. They comment on every single one of your posts by either a sweet compliment, a piece of advice or a neutral comment;
“zai el amar MSA.”.. “rabena yekhaliko leba3d” and similar comments!
2. When you show them a video on Facebook , they ask you to send it on whatsapp so they can forward it to their friends. “And it’s not as simple as that”!!
3. yenadook min akher el denya 3ashan yefaragook 3ala soura or video when they can easily share it or send it to you.
4. They expect you to be updated with their daily posts, discuss them with you, and excpect you to like them (out of courtesy)
“Have you checked out the cute girl dancing I posted on “MY Facebook today?” or “Khosh e3mel like 7ALAN”.
5. Let alone the endless questions about how to add someone, how to comment, edit and delete and the list goes on and on. They just don’t take these things lightly.
6. Some of them accept friend requests from strangers on Facebook.
7. They discuss your activities and your friends’ activities on Facebook; “who’s this friend of yours who commented on your photo?” or “so who’s this girl with your cousin in the picture?” and you can never simply answer “I don’t know”
8. Their Whatsapp groups; that’s a whole other thing. They seriously abuse this option!!
9. Let me not get started on the endless good morning and good night pictures they send but honestly they somehow make your day.
10. They share advice on your wall on how you should look better after yourself, tidy your room, or better manage your time!
11. Sometimes they share your personal profile picture. Well, it’s nice and everything that they want to brag about you but WHY?!
