We’re a nation of 90 million foodies, for better or for worse. We love and live to eat and bear no shame in that fact, but rather flaunt our obsession with food incessantly.  What’s my proof? Read on through to see exactly what leads me to believe that our relationship, as a nation, with food is the greatest one there ever was.

If there’s anything we’re good at planning and/or executing, it’s a darn good food festival with piles upon piles of restaurants offering their delicacies to the ever hungry crowds.

You can always go to the actual restaurant and buy the food without having to pay for any tickets, but no, that’s not how we do it here. We want all the restaurants under one roof and so yes, we will pay for a ticket even though it makes no sense- the things we do for love.

Whether you’re going to the movies, or going for a stroll in the streets, or even just going clubbing, you’re bound to end up eating at some point during the evening. It’s like an unspoken rule: food is fuel and you never want to run out of it during the night.

Damn right, we do! One needs to keep up with their food as much as they need to keep up with all their friends and acquaintances in this country.

To wrap it up like a shawerma wrap- yes, this pun was intended, if you don’t have an immense love for food, you can’t sit with us Egyptians. Also, on Wednesdays, we don’t wear pink, we eat ma7shy, just saying.
